FBLI Awards

While all the leagues are busy finishing up playoff and championship games, enjoying All Star competitions and practicing for tournament and travel teams, the awards committee is busy looking for athletes who excel not only on the field but off the field as well.

Farmingdale Baseball’s Service Awards are awarded to two (2) graduating seniors each year.

The award recognizes community service as well service to FBLI and school. These awards come with a $500 scholarship and a plaque that will be awarded at the August association meeting. The awards are given out during a brief ceremony and family and friends are invited for light refreshments. The applicants must have graduated this June, be currently playing on a Farmingdale Baseball team and have played for FBLI in three of the last four years. Award notices were mailed to all current seniors and are due back by July 21st. Good luck to all our graduates! 

The Thomas Fusaro Sportsmanship Award - This award was initiated to honor the memory of our colleague and friend who dedicated many hours to Farmingdale Baseball.

It is given to one adult volunteer and one of our youth participants each year who exhibit outstanding sportsmanship during the season. Parents, coaches, managers, directors - all are invited and encouraged to nominate someone who has impressed them, for this award. Applications are available at the shack and the concession stand and will be available at the next FBLI meeting.
